Barclay Brass

About the Artist
Always an audience favorite, the Barclay Brass is an ensemble comprised of some of the Washington, DC area’s top brass musicians, many of whom have served with premier military bands within our armed forces and/or major orchestras on the eastern seaboard of the United States.
The Barclay Brass will play selections from Johann Sebastian Bach, Mikhail Glinka, Christer Danielsson, Sergei Prokofiev, and William Byrd, among other notable composers.

About the Artist
The Peabody Ragtime Ensemble is back by popular demand! Affiliated with the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, the Ensemble features a distinguished array of professional musicians who perform a quirky, joyous potpourri of American music ranging from about 1890 to 1950, spanning a variety of early jazz styles including ragtime, Dixieland, big band, swing and novelty tunes.

About the Event
In keeping with the Odyssey’s mission of encouraging music students within our region, we’re hosting students from the Mount Hebron High School Chamber Music to play side-by-side with 6 professional musicians. But make no mistake, this isn’t a grade school recital – these students are already tremendously talented performers!

About the Artist
James Harp is the artistic director of Maryland Opera, where he is building a comprehensive, innovative opera and opera education/outreach program to serve the entire state of Maryland. He will be bringing his fabulous talent on the piano, along with two opera singers and an up-and-coming student.

Scott Silbert Jazz Band
- Sunday, June 4, 2023, 4 p.m.
- St. John's Episcopal Church, Ellicott City

About the Artist
A multiple woodwind player and arranger, Scott joined the Navy Commodores big band in 1991 on baritone sax, then in 1998 became the chief arranger for the United States Navy Band for fifteen years until his retirement in 2017. Recently, he has stepped into the role of band leader with his own small group and big band. Come on and swing!
