Innovation and Inspiration Embracing the Classic and the Contemporary

Howard County's Only Professional Orchestra

Howard County Concert Odyssey

The Howard County Concert Odyssey was formed to provide Howard County with a completely professional orchestra, dedicated to exceptional performances of music from the Baroque era to the 21st century.

This is a chamber orchestra which differs from a symphony orchestra, composed of a smaller number of musicians, from as few as six to as many as forty-five professional musicians selected from a wealth of regional talent. As such, the orchestra has the versatility to perform music written originally for smaller forces as well as music written for larger symphony orchestras, but with greater clarity, highlighting the unique sound of each instrument and bringing an intimacy and attention to detail not otherwise possible.

Concert Video and History

On January 15, 2017, the Howard County Concert Orchestra performed a Festival of French Favorites at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ellicott City, MD. The Orchestra performed for a wonderful audience of several hundred attendees under the direction of HCCO Music Director Ron Mutchnik, alongside guest narrator Jonathan Palevsky of WBJC and guest vocalist Denée Barr. The orchestra was also accompanied by youth members of Dance Connections Inc.
