On Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 4 p.m., the Howard County Concert Odyssey will live-stream Jordan Prescott‘s organ recital from St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ellicott City. The concert is free to all interested viewers.
Determined to “keep the music playing” despite the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Odyssey sought out the technical expertise at St. John’s to produce this concert virtually.
Acclaimed as one of the one of the leading organists and scholars of his generation, Prescott will perform works of Mendelssohn, Bach, Howells and Demessieux. His program will also feature the music of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875-1912), a Black British composer whose works gained immense popularity during his lifetime. There will even be a composition from The Beatles!
