The Howard County Concert Orchestra was formed to provide Howard County with a completely professional orchestra, dedicated to exceptional performances of music from the Baroque era to the 21 century. Season passes are available for the three major concerts in our annual performance season. Additional HCCO events (not covered by the season pass) are performed with other organizations and coordinated by them. Join the Howard County Concert Odyssey Board for a Fundraiser at Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant with their great food, fun and great music by the Lyric Brass. Weather permitting, we hope to be on the patio.

Peabody Ragtime Ensemble @ St Johns Episcopal Church

Maryland’s premiere vintage jazz ensemble is dedicated to preserving the roots of American jazz through research, arrangement and performance. From Ragtime to Dixieland to Big Band, the ensemble “edutains” audiences with a blend of informative narrative and virtuoso playing that strolls through America’s musical history. Thrice named “Baltimore’s Best” by Baltimore Magazine and winners of a 1991 WAMMY award for Best Dixieland Band, the ensemble is equally comfortable on the dance floor and the concert stage.

The Three Bs: Birds, Butterflies & Boeuf- A New Years Celebration @ First Evangelical Lutheran Church

Featuring Ronald Mutchnik conducting the HCCO in Respighi’s charming avian tribute to Italian Baroque masters, “Gli uccelli” (The Birds), The “Butterfly Lovers” Violin Concerto, one of the most famous orchestral works of Chinese music based on the ancient legend of the Butterfly Lovers with a special video presentation of beautiful pastoral scenes from China, and Milhaud’s ballet “Le Boeuf sur le toit” (The Bull on the Roof) influenced by Brazilian popular music. Featuring the dancers of Dance Connections.

A reception featuring a potpourri of desserts follows.
