The Howard County Concert Orchestra was formed to provide Howard County with a completely professional orchestra, dedicated to exceptional performances of music from the Baroque era to the 21 century. Season passes are available for the three major concerts in our annual performance season. Additional HCCO events (not covered by the season pass) are performed with other organizations and coordinated by them. Latin American Fiesta – New Year’s Celebration @ First Evangelical Lutheran Church

Featuring Ronald Mutchnik, Music Director of this concert, with a New Year’s Celebration with classical and popular Latin-American favorites including tangos, sambas, rhumbas, bossa novas and other Latin-American inspired creations by Piazzolla, Gardel, Villa-Lobos, Ponce, Ginastera, Alonso-Crespo, and more. HCCO is proud to feature soprano Gabrielle DeMers in the Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras No.5 and violist Julius Wirth in a Maryland premiere of Eduard Alonso-Crespo’s Concerto for Viola and Strings. HCCO String Quartet with the Pro Cantare @ The Jim Rouse Theatre

Organ Recital @ St. Johns Episcopal Church

Featuring Dr. Wayne L. Wold, Professor of Music and College Organist at Hood College. Composer of over 300 published works, he also serves as the Director of Music at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ellicott City, and has performed across the U.S. and in Europe. Dr. Wold is joined by violist Robin Fay Massie in performing works by Bach, Franck, Telemann, and others. At St. John’s Episcopal Church, 9130 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, MD.
